In addition to bourbon, horse racing and bluegrass, Kentucky is home to a very expansive automotive industry. Kentucky’s more than 500 automotive-related manufacturing, service and technology establishments, which include four major auto assembly plants, employ nearly 95,000 people. Kentucky produced more than 1.3 million vehicles last year, ranking third in light vehicle production and first on a per capita basis. Ten vehicle models are produced in Kentucky with two more on the way. They include: Toyota Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid; Ford Escape, F-Series Super Duty, Expedition, Lincoln MKC; the Chevy Corvette; and the Lexus ES350. Lincoln Manufacturing USA is nestled in the center of this booming industry in our state, and we are excited to see what the future holds.
Lincoln Manufacturing USA, is a metal stamping facility located in Stanford, Kentucky, about 45 miles southeast of Lexington. Lincoln Manufacturing has the ability to make a wide range of parts from simple stampings to close tolerance critical parts. LML has the equipment and technology to provide additional services to our customers. We also have the capability to weld, machine, and deburr parts for the automotive industry. Lincoln Manufacturing started business in 1995 as an affiliate company of Toshin Co., Ltd. Japan, and in 2002, became independent from Toshin Co., LTD. Most affiliate companies have to report or ask for a budget approval to their parent company, but as an independently owned and operated company we do all decision making at our location in Stanford, KY. We have the ability to make decisions and we can make them very quickly. Because of this circumstance, we have developed new manufacturing technologies to produce parts which require fine blanking or forging press by utilizing a conventional press. After the economic recession in Japan back in 1990's, many smaller stamping companies had to face very difficult matters. During the recession, companies which have exclusive technologies survived. Similar signs can be seen here in the US. Therefore, LML is trying to develop technologies that only LML can obtain and to remain very competitive in the stamping business and abroad. We have several customers who we have supported for many years. It is important we protect these relationships, while also building new relationships with new customers as well.
